Applicant Insights is an AI-powered tool that measures and explains how well a candidate’s application and resume match your requirements for a position.
Applicant Insights is a paid feature that uses Breezy Intelligence credits.
How Applicant Insights works
Applicant Insights can be enabled on any position to review all new applicants for that job. You can customize up to 5 categories to analyze each applicant’s qualifications.
Insights anonymizes candidates’ personal data, then uses your prompts to compare the qualifications and experience in their application material to the job description in your position’s settings.
You’ll see a full breakdown of each candidate’s results in the Applicant Insights tab of their profile, and an overall score of 0-10 where you see their name in the pipeline and on candidate lists. You can sort by score in both views, to quickly surface the best-fit candidates.
Applicant Insights is a paid feature that uses Breezy Intelligence credits each time an applicant is reviewed or you test your criteria.
Important Notes:
Each candidate review uses about 500 Breezy Intelligence credits.
Candidates who are in a disqualified stage will not be scanned.
Resumes that can’t be parsed will not be reviewed, such as a scanned resume. To see if a resume has been parsed, check the Experience tab of the candidate’s profile.

Multi-language Support
Applicant Insights can analyze resumes parsed in 25 languages. If a resume is not in a supported language, it can’t be parsed or analyzed.
Review criteria can be added in any language. The language for Applicant Insights results may be affected if the criteria language differs from that of other position settings.
How to edit review criteria
Anyone who can create or edit positions can edit the review criteria for a position.
You can use up to 5 categories to review candidates. Each category is made up of:
Title: A short description used to organize results in the candidate’s profile.
Prompt: A detailed description that informs the AI what to look for when comparing candidates to the job requirements.
The following 4 categories are included by default:
Title | Prompt |
Skills and Role Alignment | Candidate has skills from the job description and indicates experience relevant to the target role's core functions. |
Years of Relevant Experience | Demonstrated experience in core job functions and responsibilities, with consideration for depth and relevance rather than just duration |
Educational and Formal Qualifications | Required degrees/certifications essential for job performance, or equivalent combination of education and experience. |
Quantifiable Achievements and Impact | Evidence of meaningful contributions and impact in previous roles, whether through quantifiable results, qualitative improvements, or team contributions |
You can edit the default criteria or add and remove categories.
Click Positions/Pools in the left sidebar.
Open the correct position.
Click the gear icon ⚙️ in the top-right corner of the window to open Position Settings.
Click Screening in the left sidebar.
Scroll to Applicant Insights and find the correct category.
Click the edit icon (pencil) to change a category’s title or prompt.
Make changes and click Save Changes.
Click the delete icon (trash can) to remove a category.
Click Add Criteria to create a new category
Click Restore Defaults to reset the categories to the default criteria.
Click Save Changes.
When you save your changes, Breezy Intelligence will check for potential compliance issues and will recommend corrections if any are found. Testing a position’s criteria uses about 100 Breezy Intelligence credits.
Notes:
Be specific in your prompts. Break down complex concepts into smaller, clear ideas to produce a more accurate review.
Candidates can only be scored once. If you change the review criteria after initially enabling it, you won’t be able to manually score candidates later with the new criteria.
How to review candidates manually
Applicant Insights will not review candidates who were in your pipeline before the tool was enabled. You can manually scan these candidates from their profiles, or in bulk from the pipeline. Each scan uses about 500 credits.
Individual candidates
Open the candidate’s profile.
Click Generate Score near the top-right corner of the screen.
The results will be displayed in the Candidate Details section of the profile. You can close the panel and find the results later in the Applicant Insights tab under the More menu of the Candidate Experience section.
Notes:
It may take a few minutes to complete a scan. Don’t reload the page while a scan is in process.
Candidates in a disqualified stage will not be scanned.
A batch of candidates
Open the position’s pipeline view.
Click the settings menu (three dots) at the top of the correct stage.
Click Run Breezy Intelligence.
Choose Applicant Insights and click Run.
You’ll receive an email when the results are ready in each candidate’s profile.
Notes:
With the Applicant Insights feature enabled in company settings, batch scoring can be done from a position’s pipeline even if the feature is not enabled in the position’s settings.
If Applicant Insights is disabled at the position level, batch scoring from the pipeline will be based on the default criteria or previously saved criteria.
💡Tip: Selective Scoring from the Pipeline
Prefer to score candidates in a certain pipeline stage, rather than all candidates? Instead of enabling Applicant Insights in the position’s settings, run a bulk scan from the pipeline later.
