With filters, you can specify criteria to help you narrow down a list of positions or candidates. If you search for the same criteria often, you can save filters as segments and use them any time.

How to filter positions

  1. Click Positions/Pools in the left sidebar.

  2. Click the filter icon (funnel) in the top-left corner of the window.

  3. Enter criteria in the Filter by text box, if you’d like to include specific text.

  4. Under Filtering Options, click the checkboxes next to the criteria you’d like to use and select options.

  5. Click Apply Filter.

Filters reset when you leave the page. Find out how to save a filter so you can use it again.


💡 Tip: Filter for open positions

To quickly find a list of all open jobs, filter positions by State and choose Active. To exclude hiring pools, select Type and choose Position.


How to filter candidates

  1. Click Candidates in the left sidebar.

  2. Click the filter icon (funnel) in the top-left corner of the window.

  3. Enter criteria in the Filter by text box, if you’d like to include specific text.

  4. Under Filtering Options, click the checkboxes next to the criteria you’d like to use and select options.

  5. Click Apply Filter.

How to save filter views

Several predefined filters are included in both the Positions/Pools and Candidates views. We call these “segments”. You can create custom segments by saving filter views.

To create a new segment:

  1. Click Positions/Pools or Candidates in the left sidebar.

  2. Apply a filter with your custom criteria.

  3. Click the save icon (disk) at the bottom of the filter options 💾 .

  4. Enter a name for the segment and click Save.

Your new segment will be available from the Segments dropdown. Only you can see your custom segments—they’re not visible to other members of your hiring team. If you’d like to remove the segment, just click the X next to its name on the list.

To apply a segment:

  1. Click Positions/Pools or Candidates in the left sidebar.

  2. Click the Segments dropdown near the top of the window.

  3. Select the correct segment.

How to use segments in reporting

You can use segments to refine reports, including the filter views you save as custom segments.

  1. Click Reporting in the left sidebar.

  2. Click the Segments dropdown near the top of the window and select the correct segment.

  3. Click the Date dropdown to choose a timeframe.

  4. Select the report you’d like to generate.

The segment and date range you selected will be applied to all reports until you change it.
