Certn Integration

Use Certn and Breezy together to automate your background check process. Find out how to connect your accounts.

Breezy and Certn work together to seamlessly integrate background screening with your hiring process. With our Certn integration, you can run a background check right from a candidate’s profile.

Background Check integrations are available to customers on all paid plans.

You'll need to have an account with Certn before enabling the Breezy integration.

Certn offers background checks in the US and Canada via the Breezy integration.

How to enable the Certn integration

In order to connect Breezy with Certn, you’ll need to start in your Certn account.

In Certn

  1. Open your account settings.

  2. Open Team Settings.

  3. Click General in the left sidebar.

  4. Find Webhook URL and enter: https://app.breezy.hr/api/integration/certn/webhook

  5. Click Save.

You’ll also need an API key to finish the connection in Breezy. Click API Keys in the left sidebar to copy or add an API token.

  1. Click API Keys in the left sidebar.

  2. Create and copy an API key to add to Breezy.

Finally, you’ll need your Certn Subdomain. Your subdomain is the first section of the URL you use with your Certn account.

For example, if your Certn URL was: https://acme.certn.co, your subdomain would be acme. If you don’t have a Certn subdomain defined, just use app.

In Breezy

You’ll need Admin permission to finish the connection in your Breezy recruiting preferences.

  1. Click the gear icon ⚙️ in the left sidebar.

  2. Hover over Platform Integrations and click Background Checks.

  3. Click the Certn tile to enable the integration.

  4. Enter the API Key from your Certn account settings.

  5. Enter your Certn Subdomain.

  6. Click Save Changes.


How to run a background check

Hiring Managers can request a background check from a candidate’s profile.

  1. Open the candidate’s profile.

  2. Click the More dropdown near the top-left corner of the screen.

  3. Click Background Checks to open the Background Checks tab.

  4. Click Send Background Check.

  5. Scroll to Certn and choose a screening option from the dropdown.

  6. Click Send.

The candidate will receive an email with a link to start their background check. After they provide the information Certn needs, the screening will begin.

Once the screening is complete, you can find a link to the results in the Background Checks tab of the candidate’s profile. You'll need access to your company's Certn account in order to view the results.
