Gusto provides a platform to automate and simplify payroll, benefits, and HR. With the Gusto integration, you can export candidates from Breezy and create them as employees in Gusto.

HRIS integrations are available to customers on Business and Pro plans.

How to enable the Gusto integration

If you’re an admin and already have a Gusto account, you can enable the Gusto integration in your Breezy account settings.

  1. Click the gear icon in the left sidebar ⚙️.

  2. Hover over Recruiting Preferences and click Integrations.

  3. Scroll to Employee Management (HRIS).

  4. Scroll to the Gusto tile and click Settings.

  5. Click Sign in and enter your Gusto account credentials.

If you don’t already have a Gusto account:

  1. Click the gear icon in the left sidebar ⚙️.

  2. Hover over Recruiting Preferences and click Integrations.

  3. Scroll to Employee Management (HRIS).

  4. Scroll to the Gusto tile and click Settings.

  5. Click Create.

  6. Enter your name, email, and company name.

  7. Click Continue to Gusto to go to Gusto’s website and finish creating your account.

  8. Return to the Breezy tab and click Sign in.

  9. Enter your new Gusto account credentials.

How to set a Gusto company ID

After enabling the integration, you can set a Gusto company ID on any existing position to associate it with a company in your Gusto account. When a candidate for that position is added to Gusto, they will be associated with that company ID.

To set a Gusto company ID:

  1. Click Positions/Pools in the left sidebar.

  2. Open the correct position.

  3. Click the gear icon in the top-right corner of the window ⚙️ to open Position Settings.

  4. In the Details section, scroll to Gusto Company Name and select the correct company from the dropdown.

Note: With the integration enabled, you’ll be prompted to add a Gusto company name any time you create a new position.

How to add a new employee to Gusto manually

Once a candidate is moved to the Hired stage, you can manually add them to your Gusto account.

  1. Open the candidate's profile in Breezy.

  2. Click Add to Gusto in the top-right corner of the window.
    The candidate will be added to your Gusto account. In Breezy, you’ll see “Gusto” in the candidate’s details section under Added to.

How to add new employees to Gusto automatically

You can automatically add candidates to Gusto with Stage Actions.

To set up the Stage Action:

  1. Click the settings menu (three dots) for the stage where you want to set the action.

  2. Click Edit Stage Actions in the dropdown.

  3. Click the dropdown for Available Stage Actions and select Add to Gusto.
    Now, any candidate that reaches the stage will automatically be added to your Gusto account.

Supported Fields

As part of the integration with Gusto, candidate info from the following fields will be transferred:

  • First Name

  • Last Name

  • Email Address
