Breezy’s Candidate Match Score is an automated tool that helps you prioritize applicants, to decide who to review first.

Candidate Match Score is a legacy feature that’s only available to existing subscribers.

The AI-based tool automatically compares job descriptions to resumes, based on criteria in a position’s settings. A match score of 0-10 is displayed on a candidate's profile, in Team Scorecards, and in Candidate Compare.

How match scoring works

Candidate match scoring uses artificial intelligence (AI) to compare your position’s job description to a candidate’s resume as soon as they apply. The match score is based on a weighted set of criteria that you can adjust for each position*, and each candidate’s score is displayed wherever you find their Candidate Score.

💡 Tip: Strong descriptions for strong scoring!

Match scoring is based on the job description in your position’s settings, so make sure it’s as relevant as possible. If you don’t include a description, candidates won’t be scored at all.

How to manage Match Scoring

Match scoring can be enabled or disabled for each position, and you can adjust the weighting of match criteria in the position’s settings.

To enable Match Scoring and manage settings:

  1. Click Positions/Pools in the left sidebar.

  2. Open the correct position.

  3. Click the gear icon ⚙️ in the top-right corner of the window to open Position Settings.

  4. Click Screening in the left sidebar.

  5. Find Match Score and click Enabled.

    • If it’s the first time anyone on your team has enabled match scoring, click Get Match Score and follow the steps to choose a plan and confirm payment.

  6. Click and drag the sliders to adjust the weighting for each category, if available.*

  7. Click Save Changes.

    • Up to 5,000 candidates who were in active positions before the subscription was enabled will be scored retroactively.

  • For customers with a one-time purchase of Match Score:

    • Once enabled, Match Score will score up to 500 applicants for up to 30 days (whichever comes first), including candidates who are already in your pipeline.

    • *Custom weighting is only available with a monthly or annual Match Score subscription. The following weighting is used with a one-time purchase of Match Score:

  • A candidate’s match score is based on the criteria weighting settings at the time they apply with their resume. If you change a position’s Match Score settings after a candidate applies, their score will not be updated accordingly.
