Candidate Dispositions

Not everyone is a good fit. Find out how to disposition candidates and track disqualification reasons in Breezy.

For every open position, there are some great candidates — and some that just aren’t the right fit. With Breezy, you can easily keep track of why candidates were removed from consideration.

With the Dispositions feature enabled, you’ll be prompted to assign a reason whenever a candidate is moved to a disqualified stage. Disposition details are available in the Dispositions Report and on the Discussion tab of each candidate’s profile.

Storing reasons for disqualification, or disposition, is helpful for analyzing your hiring process, but it’s also essential for OFCCP (Office of Federal Contract Compliance Program) requirements.

How to enable disposition tracking

Company admins can enable disposition tracking in their company settings.

  1. Click the gear icon ⚙️ in the left sidebar.

  2. Click Company Settings.

  3. Click General in the left sidebar.

  4. Click Compliance near the top of the screen.

  5. Find EEOC Dispositions and choose Required or Optional.

  6. Click Save Changes.


How to add or edit Disposition Codes

With disposition tracking enabled, admins can manage disposition codes in their company settings.

  1. Click the gear icon ⚙️ in the left sidebar.

  2. Click Company Settings.

  3. Click General in the left sidebar.

  4. Click Compliance near the top of the screen.

  5. Find EEOC Dispositions and click Edit Disposition Codes.

  6. Find the correct code on the list:

    • Edit the reason

    • Reorder the list (click and drag)

    • Delete the reason (trash can)

  7. Click + Disposition Code to add a new reason or code.

  8. Click Save Changes.

How to disposition a candidate

With dispositions enabled, you can choose a disqualification reason any time you move a candidate to a disqualified stage. The details of all dispositioned candidates are available in the Dispositions Report.

You can disqualify or disposition candidates in several places:

From the position pipeline

  1. Open the correct position.

  2. Click Pipeline near the top of the window.

  3. Click the candidate’s card and drag it to a Disqualified stage.

  4. Choose a disqualification reason from the list.

  5. Click Finish.

From the Candidates list

  1. Open the Candidates list from the left sidebar or a specific position.

  2. Click the checkbox next to the correct candidate.

  3. Click the Move icon (double arrow) near the upper-right corner.

  4. Select the Disqualified stage from the dropdown.

  5. Choose a disqualification reason from the list.

  6. Click Finish.

From the candidate profile

  1. Locate the candidate with a search or from a position or pool.

  2. Open the candidate’s profile.

  3. Click the Disqualify icon (red person icon) in the upper-right corner.

  4. Choose a disqualification reason from the list.

  5. Click Finish.

From the Inbox

  1. Open the Inbox from the left sidebar or a specific position.

  2. Click the candidate’s card on the left-hand side.

  3. Click the Move menu (double arrow) near the top-right corner.

  4. Select the Disqualified stage from the dropdown.

  5. Choose a disqualification reason from the list.

  6. Click Finish.

💡Tip: Handle dispositions in bulk with Auto-Disqualify

With Auto-Disqualify Candidates, you can automatically disposition all remaining candidates when you close a position.
